EachStep Blackley's pioneering dementia-friendly environment has been celebrated in a film produced by the Social Care Institute of Excellence (SCIE).

SCIE is an organisation renowned for knowledge-sharing and advocating best practice in the health and social care sector. EachStep was chosen to be part of this thought-provoking film on how the physical setting of a care home can affect a person living with dementia.

The film, which will be featured on their online TV channel, Social Care TV as part of a special series on dementia care best practice, was recently showcased at the National Housing Federation‘s Care and Support Conference in Manchester.

In the video, Sue McLean, Community Integrated Care’s Director of Care Services and Outcomes, speaks in depth about how care homes can improve the comfort, security and welfare of their residents by investing in a dementia-friendly living environment.

Michelle Phillips, Manager at EachStep Blackley, says: “We are delighted to have been able to partner with the Social Care Institute of Excellence to deliver such an insightful video. This has allowed us to share our vast specialist knowledge, and ensures that the fantastic work we do at EachStep not only benefits the people we support in Manchester, but those living with dementia in the UK.”
